Celebrate the New Year in Manhattan with a midnight run and a holiday concert.
The New Year’s Eve Concert for Peace was announced recently by the Cathedral Church of Saint John. The concert is from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on December 31, 2015. It features the Cathedral Choir, Soloist Jamet Pittman, and Singer and Songwriter Judy Collins, along with the host for the event, Harry Smith.
Tickets are available for the performance and there is a small number of free tickets that are available on a first-come first-served basis.
The New York Marathon Midnight Run is a four-mile run in Central Park on New Year’s Eve. Before the run, participants can meet at 10 p.m. for a party. There’s a costume contest at 11 p.m. and the race begins at 11:59 a the 72nd Street Transverse near Bethesda Terrace and head east. Turn left (north) at East Drive, just when the countdown begins for the beginning of 2016. Runners will head North.
