Are you looking for a little inspiration for your next family trip? O.A.R.S arranges trips that are suitable for families with children who are as young as 4-years old. The trips range from the Grand Canyon to the Galapagos. United States adventures are in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, Utah and Wyoming. The adventures can also take travelers to western Canada and Latin America. Each all-inclusive trip is designed to help families unplug from technology and their hectic lives and gain a deeper appreciation of nature. O.A.R.S. has been recognized for its knowledgeable staff. In 2012, Conde Nast Traveler awarded Mindy Gleason, the company’s International Travel Consultant and Reservation Manager as the Top Travel Specialist for River Rafting.
O.A.R.S. began organizing rafting trips in 1969. In addition to its rafting trips, the company also provides kayaking trips and trips that combine multiple sports. The trips range from short, day-one getaways to 11 days. During most of the adventures travelers spend from 4 to 6 hours rafting and an activities director, called a “Fun Director” leads the group in other activities, like nature walks, and yard games such as tug-of-war. There are over 75 different itineraries available, and the trips can accommodate travelers with a wide range of ability levels.
Over the years O.A.R.S. has contributed more than $3 million to earth preservation efforts for the areas that their guests explore. O.A.R.S. uses solar energy and fuel-efficient vehicles when possible to help reduce the company’s impact on the environment.
