Representatives from Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia announced today that the property will undergo significant renovations to the cabins in Mountain Creek Inn. The  resort plans to completely restore the 274 rooms in the Inn before this April. Callaway Garden’s CEO Edward Callaway revealed that guests saw a sample of 30 restored cabins in October and were so impressed that the it was decided that all of the cabins be restored. Renovation plans include the inn’s ballroom, pool and restaurant, as well.

The Mountain Creek Inn dates back to 1956, and at that time the inn was the largest hotel in the region, according to Callaway Gardens. Thousands of people stayed in the Inn over the years, each with special memories of the time they spend at Callaway Gardens. For some people, the inn represents honeymoons, anniversary celebrations, and birthdays.

In all the property where the inn stands includes a  store, buffet area, patio, fitness center,  and the aforementioned pool, restaurant, and 10,000-square-foot ballroom. Future plans include renovations to the beach and gardens at Callaway Gardens. The resort is celebrating its 61st year. This year, CNN and Yahoo Travel acknowledged the  luxury resort  for its holiday lights, the resort reported in its announcement.
