The Real Housewives of New York: Bethenny’s Hampton Birthday Bash

Bethenny had her birthday get together at her Hampton home and she found herself wanting to hide to avoid, Dorinda Medley’s boyfriend John Mahdessian in the Barbecue Brunch or Bust episode of the Real Housewives of New York, which aired at 9 p.m. Eastern Time on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 on BRAVO.

John offended Bethenny during last episode’s lingerie party by showing up drunk and asking Bethenny embarrassing questions about her business and accusing Bethenny of being jealous of his relationship with Dorinda.

As a result of the confrontation, Dorinda told John that he had to apologize for his behavior. He wasn’t even invited to the lingerie party. He came there to get Dorinda and take her home. Dorinda had called him to tell him to that she was ready to go home.

Bethenny invited Dorinda and John to her barbecue birthday party, and she regretted that she didn’t ask Dorinda not to bring John to her catered backyard barbecue.

Luann de Lesseps came around, but she was not getting along with Carole Radziwill. Luann brought a hula hoop, perhaps to break the house, and she was horrible at it.
Carole could tell that Luann was trying too hard.
“It’s embarrassing. You’re a grown woman. Leave the hula hoop at home,” Carole remarked in her confessional.

Carole was dishing shade and could tell that Luann was feeling tense. She could tell from her shaky hula hooping and laughter.

She’s really clearly uncomfortable,” Carole said.”… that was a nervous laugh.”

Meanwhile, Luann wanted to clear things up with Carole.

“It would be nice to clear the air with Carole, just because the air is so thick. As far as I’m concerned, I buried the hatchet, but I think Carole is still holding the hatchet and is running after me.

In the previous season and the reunion Luann said some hurtful things to Carole for having a relationship with Adam, Luann’s chef.

“She is not really taking responsibility for her actions or her words,” Bethenny said. “Luann just wants to sweep this thing under the fire pit.”

Bethenny had her own situation going on. She didn’t want to be anywhere near John.

Luann was having trouble trying to get Carole to talk to her.

“You can’t keep avoiding me, Carole,” Luann said as Carole walked away.

They finally sat down and talked to each other, but Carole insisted that the nasty words from last season and the reunion were only coming from Luann. Luann wouldn’t admit anything.

John put off apologizing to Bethenny as long as he could. When he did muster up the courage to apologize, it was difficult to get Bethenny to stay in one place long enough for him to speak. She avoided him as much as she could. When he would come around, she would decide to get a drink or find some other excuse to get away from him.

Finally, she gave John a break and offered to go to a private place to talk. John apologized, but then Bethenny asked him what he was apologizing for. Of course she became more irritated when he couldn’t tell her, and the first attempt to apologize was a fail.

At that point, Bethenny didn’t want to hear anything from John, which upset Dorinda to no end. Bethenny realized that Dorinda was bothered, and she was worried that she might lose her friend. Although John repulsed her, she liked Dorinda very much.

Bethenny graciously decided to let John off the hook and quickly told him that she accepted his apology for Dorinda’s sake. She wanted to put everything behind her and move on. She actually told him, that she was only accepting his apology for Dorinda’s sake (so she really didn’t like him nor want to accept anything from him). John was (somewhat) relieved and grabbed Dorinda to leave before anything else happened to ruin their truce.

Julianne (Jules) Wainstein planned a brunch for the Real Housewives of New York cast at her home. Jules and her husband, Michael, were in the process of having their house remodeled and Michael made the mistake of telling Bethenny that it was a seven year project.

Jules explained that they bought the house when it was 70 percent completed. Then came the questions from Bethenny. Bethenny asked if they came there in the winter, and how did they keep their kids away from the construction? Then Bethenny just had to say that she bought her own Hampton house a year before and renovated it in three months.

Michael said they had begun renovating their house two years ago. “What they hell were you thinking?” Bethenny blurted out. Then she told Michael that he needed to get surgical, military, execute and not  d_ _ _k  around.”

And she went on to say that there will be 8,000 problems, and he will never be able to sell the house. She even called the house a money pit. Not exactly what Jules and Michael wanted to hear about her 20,000 square foot home.

If that wasn’t bad enough, Bethenny and Carole gossiped about Jule’s eating habits (or her lack of food consumption) right at Jule’s dinner table.

Bethenny and Carole drove to the brunch together, and decided that they would only stay about an hour. So, after they ate, and Luann showed up, they took a quick tour of the place and were ready to leave. Perplexed, Jules stopped them before they left and questioned them about leaving so early…

Dorinda felt bad for Jules, because Jules was excited about her home, and felt put off by Bethenny and Carole’s behavior.

But back in the house, Jules said that she played dumb, but knew exactly what was going on.

In the next episode, Jules reveals that she had an eating disorder in her late teens and early 20s.
