Conner Prairie to Open a Nature Center in July ⋆ Somewhere Luxurious

Conner Prairie, one of the largest and most visited attractions in its region. The interactive history park in Fishers, Indiana will open a four-story tree house. The new Treetop Outpost will have several attractions surrounding it.

An arts activity center gives children the joy of making art projects.
With natural musical instruments, young people can experiment with sounds outdoors near the the treehouse.
A construction activity, which gives kids the opportunity to build things with natural materials
A dig activity, designed to allow children to find objects underground can spark imaginations and curiosity.

The Cornerstone is multi-generational activity center. Adults work hand and hand with their children to help their children have realistic experiences for growth and discovery. This interactive museum has a version of a town, circa 1836 on the property. Open April to October, the village has a store, school and townspeople to learn from. Also open from April to October, children can learn about a slice of the Civil War in the museum’s Civil War Journeys attraction, a scene from 1863 after a raid.

Conners Prarie is named after William Conner, a fur trader who is the founder of Hamilton County. Conner had several businesses in his lifetime (1777-1855). He was also a farmer and a miller. He served as a representative for Indiana for three terms. His home, built in 1823 still exists on the property. The historic Conner home is one of the oldest homes made of brick in Indiana. There, visitors learn about living in the 1800s. They can tour the gardens, learn about dying fabrics or make their own wax candle.
