Employees from Princess Cruises, Holland America Line, and Seabourn gave their time and money to Washington residents to celebrate the spirit of the holiday season. The employees made 32,014 meals when they volunteered from December 7th to December 11th at Northwest Harvest’s Kent, a food distribution center.
The employees organized bake sales, a silent auction, Candy Gram sales, and other fundraisers to raise money for the things that some Washington-area families needed and wanted. In all, the employees adopted 22 families through New Beginnings, an organization that helps families who have been impacted by domestic violence.
The employees collected about $20,000 worth of goods that the families needed or wanted for their households. Some of the items that were donated included bedding, high chairs, dishes, small appliances, bathrobes, slippers toys, etc.
