Even before Thanksgiving, over million lights were officially turned on during the Festival of Lights celebration to welcome the holiday season at Moody Gardens on Galveston Island Texas on November 14, 2015. Santa Claus did the honor, himself.

For the first time in the US, guests are able to enter the Krusty Krab made of ice at Moody Gardens

Festival of Lights has more than a mile of holiday lights and decorated and lit scenes with festive music. An outdoor ice skating rink and huge ice slide complete the holiday experience for fun-loving visitors. Entertainment, holiday movies shown in the 3D and 4D theaters add to the holiday spirit at Moody Gardens.

The Festival of Lights celebration continues until January 10, 2016. Admission is $10.95, which include access to the ice skating rink. Ice skate rental is $7 or visitors can bring their own skates. Tickets to the year-round attractions, the various pyramids: the Rainforest Pyramid, Aquarium Pyramid, the MG 3D Theater and the 4D Special FX Theater, Discovery Museum, SpongeBob SubPants Adventure, Colonel Paddlewheel Boat and the Arctic Ice Slide have an admission fee of $7 with the purchase of a ticket to the Festival of Lights.
